Carlotta Bertelli – photographer:
A woman suspended between wonder and reality: where did the inspiration for the editorial come from?
“The editorial was inspired by the work of Ghana artist Philip Kwame Apagya, whose portraits, suspended between realism and naiveté, represent the place where “dreams come true”.
All my research revolves around the interaction between reality and fiction, and illusion, which for me is the most fascinating side of fashion: on the set and reality becomes desire and desire becomes possible.
The recur to the set design – curated by Claudia Brambilla – goes in this direction: the matter and the realism of the pictures  are mixed with the essentiality and the fantasy of the drawing, creating a different space in which fashion with its creativity rather than as a product becomes the protagonist of such “mise-en-scène”.
