Here is what you might have missed during 2016

This year has been filled with many surprises, great collaborations, even greater results and wonderful encounters. In case you were living under a rock, here is what you might have missed during 2016!

Pauline van Dongen Re-Cap 2016

2016 was the year that Pauline was privileged to meet national and international royalty. Twice. She participated in a group discussion with Dutch Queen Maxima during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. She was also invited for lunch at the Ridderzaal together with the Belgian King and Queen. Not to mention the moment during that lunch when Dutch prime minister Marc Rutte unexpectedly mentioned her in his speech on innovation in the Dutch design sector.

Before all these regal happenings, an amazing collaboration was launched with haptic technology company Elitac which resulted in smart top: FysioPal. This posture improving top seems to be the perfect match to those working long office hours. FysioPal aims to help avoid health issues and rehabilitate the body caused by incorrect postures and upper-body positions. Dezeen published an interesting article on this.

Mid-2016, we also launched the latest addition to our Solar collection: the Solar Windbreaker. The jacket was designed in collaboration with the Dutch Waddensociety, BlueLoop Originals and Alta Devices. Providing hikers with the opportunity to discover more about the Dutch seascapes in comfort, functionality and style.

On a newer note, we began to finalise a new denim project we’ve been working on together with denim manufacturer, ItalDenim. Despite not having launched it yet (stay tuned for early 2017), the studio had immense fun working on the visual campaign for it together with emerging Dutch talent.

To start off 2017 with a bang, Pauline will be a guest speaker during the Wearable Tech summit at CES in Las Vegas in January. Furthermore, she will also be teaching a masterclass during the Modefabriek Winter 2017 edition in Amsterdam. Be sure to sign up for it once the program is featured online.

We’d like to thank all our partners and contributors that played a role in making 2016 so memorable for Pauline and her team. To make sure you don’t miss out on what happens in the new year, you can follow Pauline’s work on InstagramTwitterFacebook and LinkedIn.
