The Wolk Hip Airbag is the airbag that ensures a soft landing when someone falls and thereby prevents hip fractures. This way elderly people can move freely and confidently, because their hips are very well protected. The Wolk Hip Airbag can be easily and unobtrusively worn underneath everyday clothing. Sensors in the “Wolk” belt monitor every movement 500 times per second and immediately recognize a fall. Before the wearer touches the ground, an airbag inflates around the hip so that the fall is soft. Thanks to the fall alarm, a fall will be sent to a contact by text message, indicating the location.

During the startup phase of the company, we helped design the Wolk Hip Airbag by integrating the electronics and airbag components in a wearable, comfortable and non-stigmatizing textile belt.
